Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Fellowship Grant, New York
Through fellowship grants, the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) supports transformational cultural exchanges between Americans and Asians. Headquartered in New York with offices in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei and Manila, ACC Grants offers scholars and professionals cross cultural exchanges from Asia to the US, US to Asia and Inter-Asia. ACC tailors the grant specifically to each individual grantee.
Who can apply
People of American and/or Asian origin (including Malaysians) who are artists, performers, or professionals and scholars in the visual arts, performing arts and cultural studies. Malaysians must apply to ACC New York office.
The application period begins 1st September and ends 1st November each year. Results are announced in May the following year.
Grant amounts vary according to length of project and needs of individual grantees. Amount does not exceed USD10,000 for organizations. Grants cover areas in need of support such as (but not limited to) residency programs, visiting scholar programs, internships, collaborative projects, classes and workshops, conferences, cultural surveys, and graduate studies but not undergraduate studies. Lodging, local orientation, travel logistics and visa application help are offered to grantees from Asia travelling to the US.
ACC provides partial grants to organizations involved in programs significant to international cultural exchange.
While not specifically stated, completion of project, study or projects is generally expected. ACC places heavy emphasis on inter cultural exchanges and requires that its recipients share their experiences with ACC and fellow grantees.
ACC has awarded over 6,000 grants to individuals and organizations in the arts since its inception in 1963 by John D Rockefeller III.
